Meet The Managers

The managers will enter the ring and pitch their fund to the Ringmasters. They have 5 minutes to make their presentation and will have 10 minutes to answer questions directed by the Ringmasters. The Ringmasters will tell the managers whether they want to take them to a meeting for a potential allocation, or they pass and why.

The audience will vote for their favorite presentation using the Deal Ring mobile app. The winner will receive the Audience Choice Award.

Yusuf is the founder, CIO, and portfolio manager for reCursive management. Yusuf’s career began in financial services at Goldman Sachs in 2009, with 13 years experience in Private Equity, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Data Science and Network Engineering, across Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, and Strategy&. Prior to launching the fund in 2023, he was an investor and advisor to early-stage African startups. Yusuf attended the Wharton School of Business (with a 99% GMAT) and graduated with an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. He also has a M.S. in Operations Research Financial Engineering from Columbia University, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (magna cum laude) from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is an SEO alumnus.

Cedar Cliff Capital is managed by Gregory Barasia, a macroeconomic investor with over fourteen years of experience across equities, fixed income, commodities, and currencies in both developed and emerging markets.

Prior to Cedar Cliff Capital, Greg held investment roles at firms including Mubadala Investment Company, Emirates Investment Authority, and New Vernon Capital.

Greg holds an MBA from Cornell University and a Bachelor's degree from New York University. He is a CFA and CAIA Charterholder.

Elliot Trexler

Elliot brings over 15 years of portfolio management experience to his role at Global Return Asset Management, LLC where he oversees algo development, and risk and portfolio management.

Elliot launched Global Return in 2013 and in 2015 took in his first LP capital. He has achieved awards for Hedge Fund Manager of the Year and Best Fundamental Growth Investor sponsored by BarclayHedge. Prior to starting Global Return, Elliot was a proprietary trader at T3 Capital from 2010-2013, where he rose to Senior Trader and was ranked #1 in his recruiting class.

Elliot graduated from Indiana University and attended Indiana University Kelley School of Business for Quantitative Tools for Business, and Financial Accounting & Reporting.

Elliot maintains a rigorous routine of cycling, boxing, weightlifting and yoga. His enthusiasm for Pickleball led him to compete twice in the U.S. Open Pickleball Championship in the Men's Singles and Men's Doubles brackets. A seasoned traveler, Elliot has visited 22 countries and is conversant in Spanish. He is an amateur comedian and showcases this talent through his YouTube channel.
